Palmerah turbinski most

Plutajući most između dva otoka u Indoneziji proizvoditi će električnu energiju iz morskih strujanja. Naime, u donjem, potopljenom, dijelu mosta, biti će ugrađeni propeleri koje će pokretati strujanje vode te tako proizvoditi električnu energiju. Palmerah Tidal Bridge biti će dug 800 metara te će povezivati otoke Flores i Andonara. Instalirana snaga elektrane ugrađene u most iznositi će 23 MW, a moći će se nadograditi do 115 MW. Radi se o zajedničkom projektu Nizozemske i Indonezije kojim se želi povećati proizvodnja električne energije korištenjem alternativnih i ekološki prihvatljivih načina proizvodnje električne energije.

Indonezija gradi elektranu na morske mijene

Elektrana snage 18 - 23 MW omogućit će opskrbu električnom energijom za 100 000 ljudi. Američki portal 'Power Engineering International' je izvijestio da je indonezijska vlada odobrila planove za izgradnju velike hidroelektrane na morske mijene. Kako se ističe, jedan od glavnih razloga za to je politički cilj ostvarivanja što je veće proizvodnje električne energije iz obnovljivih izvora za pokrivanje sve većih potreba. Postrojenje bi se trebalo graditi na otoku Floresu i bit će ugrađeno u već postojeći pontonski most duljine 800 m preko tjesnaca Larantuka. Očekuje se da bi snaga HEMM Palmerah trebala iznositi 18 - 23 MW, dok bi se iz proizvodnje trebale pokriti potrebe za električnom energijom za 100 000 ljudi. Projekt bi se trebao ostvariti u suradnji s Nizozemskom, za što je osnovana zajednička tvrtka Tidal Bridge s nizozemskom tvrtkom Strukton International i fondom DEC.

Tidal Bridge BV, a joint venture of Strukton International and DEC, has been awarded the Palmerah Tidal Bridge project in Indonesia. The Palmerah Tidal Bridge project has the National Strategic Project status, emphasizing the national interest. The project includes the construction of a floating bridge together with the world’s largest tidal power plant. The first phase of the project has a contract value up to $200 million and will be rolled out in two years.

Tidal Bridge BV, a joint venture of Strukton International and DEC, has been awarded the Palmerah Tidal Bridge project in Indonesia. The Palmerah Tidal Bridge project has the National Strategic Project status, emphasizing the national interest. The project includes the construction of a floating bridge together with the world’s largest tidal power plant. The first phase of the project has a contract value up to $ 200 million and will be rolled out in two years.

The first scope of work consists of the construction of the 800 meter Palmerah Bridge at Larantuka Strait, East Flores, and a tidal energy power plant with an installed capacity of 18 MW to 23 MW, providing energy for more than 100.000 people.

After realising the first phase, the project is followed by an extension and finalisation of the power plants to an installed capacity of 90 MW to 115 MW for more than half a million people. The total project duration is four years and the contract value amounts up to $ 550 million.

The project contributes to the development of the Eastern part of Indonesia and the connection between the islands by improving its infrastructure. Besides, it will have direct impact on the fishery and agro culture in the area, stimulate tourism and improve the access to education and health care on the longer term. The combination of the bridge with the tidal energy power plant makes this project unique in its kind. The planned location, Larantuka Strait, is highly suitable for the generation of tidal energy due to the water flows, and makes it possible for local people to benefit from the bridge in multiple ways.

This ground breaking project follows the signing of the Head of Agreement in April 2016. It is the first project as part of the Dutch - Indonesian cooperation in the area of water works. The floating bridge and tidal power plants are designed and realised by the Dutch company Tidal Bridge BV, in cooperation with international and local partners. The first design and construct phase will be completed end-2019.
